"Overall, the findings showed a consistent picture indicating a positive impact from the tailored DM intervention. Clinical indicators improved, utilization declined, and activation scores increased to a greater extent in the intervention group than in the control group"

Informing Patient Support Programs
More than 100 studies worldwide have incorporated the Patient Activation Measure assessment. These studies document the measurement power of the PAM across scores of disease states and demographically diverse populations. More importantly, this research provides valuable insight into how best to increase activation and to improve an individual’s self-management abilities. Research in real-world settings has shown with increasing activation comes improved self-management, improved adherence and reduced ER admits and hospitalization.
More than 60 peer reviewed published studies over the last 5 years.
More than 70 academic caliber studies in progress.
Hundreds of patient characteristics have been mapped to activation levels for more than 20 conditions.
The PAM has been studied and validated in 15 countries, and counting.
