Chris Delaney. Insignia Health Founder
Chris has spent his career, in both healthcare and with leading packaged goods firms, working to understand consumer needs and translating these insights into successful consumer products and services. He served as Definity Health’s Chief Marketing Officer from 1999 through the company’s sale to United HealthGroup at the close of 2004. Definity was the first and largest provider of consumer-driven health plans, and a pioneer in account-based products and consumer health activation.
Judy Hibbard, DrPh. Lead PAM Inventor
Dr. Hibbard is a Professor of Health Policy at the University of Oregon, lead author of the Patient Activation Measure® survey, and a recognized international expert on consumerism in healthcare. Over the last 25 years she has focused her research on consumer choices and behavior in healthcare. Her research interests examine such topics as: how consumers understand and use health care information, how health literacy affects choices, enrollee behavior within consumer-driven health plans, and assessments of patient and consumer activation.
Bill Mahoney, PhD. PAM co-inventor
Dr. Mahoney is a recognized leader in the measurement and evaluation of consumer health behavior. He has developed or co-developed leading measurement instruments including the Patient Activation Measure survey, the Care Transition Measure, the Team Development Measure, the Ambulatory Medication Safety Culture Measure as well as measures of subclinical depression, physical function, workforce engagement, hospital and clinic patient-centered care.
Susan Prows, PhD, MPH. Training & Research
Susan’s experience includes a unique blend of academia, public policy and commercial endeavors. Currently, she is a faculty member for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Aligning Forces for Quality (AF4Q) initiative — providing research and technical assistance to the 14 grantee communities throughout the US. She teaches an introductory public health course to undergraduate students at Western Oregon University. Before joining Insignia, Susan served as Research Director and Program Manager for Oregon Health & Science University’s Program for Medical Innovation.
Craig Swanson. Insignia Health Founder
Craig has spent the last 20 years developing strategic and operating infrastructures that enable consumers to drive industry change. Craig co-founded Definity Health in 1998 and served in several leadership roles up to the company’s sale to United HealthGroup in December of 2004. Positions included Chief Financial Officer, Strategy and Corporate Development Lead and Head of Operations.
