Chris Delaney

Chris has spent the last 20 years understanding consumer needs and translating these insights into successful consumer products. Chris served as Definity Health’s Chief Marketing Officer from 1999 through the company’s sale to United HealthGroup at the close of 2004. Definity was the first and largest provider of consumer-driven health plans, and a pioneer in account-based products and consumer health activation.

Prior to Definity, Chris spent 12 years in executive level brand management positions with The Pillsbury Company, Health Valley Foods and Dreyer’s & Edy’s Grand Ice Cream.  Chris and his teams managed more than $5 billion in revenue during this time frame and developed many leading brands, including Pillsbury Crescents, Green Giant meal solutions and ice cream brands through joint ventures with Starbucks, Godiva and M&M Mars.

After leaving Definity in February, 2005, Chris became a founding partner of the Sequoi Group, a consultancy specializing in consumer-driven healthcare and the emerging role of the consumer across the healthcare system. Sequoi worked with nine clients over a two-year period, including six Fortune 500 companies. Chris also served as an advisor to Healthline, a pioneer in medically-guided Internet search and navigation for consumers, and continues to serve as an advisor to Vested Health.

Chris holds a masters degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, and completed undergraduate studies at Occidental College in Los Angeles.
